Pacific Explorer Deck Refit

Passenger deck lining replacement and fire-rated bulkhead upgrades during a short port turnaround.

Case study

Challenge

The vessel operator scheduled a ten-day turnaround in Brisbane with multiple trades competing for access on passenger decks. Existing wall and ceiling linings showed impact damage and non-compliant patch repairs from prior campaigns.

Programme controls

Lookahead schedules were updated each shift with protection sign-off and handback checks before public access resumed.

Variations were logged against agreed rates so owners and tenants shared one commercial record.

Handover included marked-up plans, rated-wall tags, and access panel locations for facilities maintenance.

Solution

We mobilised a marine-experienced crew with vessel inductions completed ahead of arrival. Works were sequenced deck-by-deck with fire watch and hot-work permits managed through the ship superintendent. New linings matched approved marine materials lists, and penetrations were sealed to the surveyor's satisfaction.

Outcome

The ship departed on schedule with updated lining certificates filed in the vessel documentation pack. Passenger areas presented uniform finishes, and the operator booked Carval Interior Lining for a follow-on cabin corridor package on the next Australian port call.
